Grindr for Android 1.0.3 has arrived

Posted on April 12, 2011 by Grindr Team

Android Users - Grindr for Android 1.0.3 has arrived and is available for download on the Android Market (GrindrAndroid.com).

It’s only been a month since launch and Grindr Android has had over 100,000 downloads. A big thanks to everyone for sending feedback and helping us improve the Grindr experience for users. This upgrade would not have been possible without your feedback and support.

Grindr 1.0.3 is now compatible with all devices running official versions of Gingerbread 2.3 and 2.3.3, and includes fixes to many of the issues you’ve reported to us over the last few weeks. Users can expect fewer crashes and improved location accuracy for you and the guys around you.

We’ve also implemented two new features in the Settings menu that help conserve battery life. Grindr users can turn off “Location Update”, a feature which allows your location to be updated in the background. Grindr Xtra users now have the option to turn off Message Notifications, a new feature exclusive to Grindr Xtra Android users, that allows for message notifications to be sent while Xtra is running in the background. Both new features are only available on Grindr and Grindr Xtra 1.0.3, and will help to conserve the battery life of your Android device.

You may notice photos loading slower; we’ve done this to improve the app’s stability. We are working to improve load speeds for future builds.

We are also working to bring you more new features and fixes - let us know what you think of the latest changes by rating Grindr and writing a review on the Android Market. You can also help support Grindr and its development by purchasing a subscription to Grindr Xtra.

Grindr Xtra is available for purchase within the Grindr app if you’re seeking to upgrade your experience. View up to 200 guys with Grindr Xtra, get message notifications, and more. To view a complete list of features, go to Grindr.com/Xtra.

If you’re still experiencing issues, please post  your feedback to http://grindr.com/androidfeedback. If you require immediate assistance for a Grindr related issue, please email Help-Android@Grindr.com. Grindr Xtra users, email Xtra-Android@Grindr.com.
